Garibaldi, Hypsypops rubicundus
The Garibaldi is a symbol of Catalina Island, California where they are protected from both commercial and recreational fishing. Believe it or not, the bright orange adult Garibaldi starts off its life as this crimson and electric blue beauty. As they grow older the blue spots gradually disappear.
