California Sheephead, Semicossyphus pulcher
Very similar in niche to the Tautog of the East Coast, the Sheephead has chompers that can crush the shells of scallops, mussels, & lobsters. Also wild is the variation in color patterns between male, female, and juvenile. Notecard measures 4 1/2" x 5 1/2," includes an envelope, and comes in a clear plastic sleeve.
